Feifei Feng - Submission 7,8

Submission 7
Australasian Steam Navigation Co.

English-Bond Brick with Stone trim
Style: Federation Anglo-Dutch
This style is characterized by the plain red-brown brickwork of the facade, enriched by delicate ornament of brickwork. At the roofline, a lively silhouette is achieved by the used of stepped brick gables with stone trim.

Purpose-made circular arch around a clock

Submission 8
Sydney Theatre

I was impressed with the large span of the arch. It is a 6 full brick rings semicircular rough arch, as shown in the image below.

The abutments are formed with all header courses.

4-course soldiers vs. multiple-course dog-toothing decoration
In such a way, buildings on the left and right are differentiated from each other. The one on the right is Sydney Theater.

Eye-catching pattern that well serves the decorative purpose.

Special treatment to top course of the dog-toothing

Brick on flat 4-course dog-toothing which is an interesting way to reveal floor levels.
