Information
------------------------------------------------
- Stretcher Bond.
- Raked Joint with grey mortar.
- Plays a structural role (low-bearing structure). Double brick building as it is within a severe marine environment (Bondi).
- The architect seemed to have played with the way bricks can be layed. There are engaged piers with soldier course cappings. Above the windows there is also a course of soldier courses.
- Down the middle of the building the bricks are cut dogleged and bevelled.
- Thinner bricks are also used within the centre of the archs.
- Archs are created by bevelled bats and uses black bricks and dark brown bricks for colour.
- Herringbone pattern used on the facade as well.
- Quite a rough texture but the skill required to construct this building is amazing. Brickwork has also fared well in this environment
