Brick as image 3,4,5

- sandstone seems to be the main load bearing element of this building
- while arches are present, bricks are not doing any of the 'work', the sandstone is.

- there are no arches present on this building
- not too sure what's supporting the brick, either lintels, or the concrete slabs at the bottom and centre of building (steel supported)

Apartments at Pyrmont.  
- even from a distance it is clear that the bricks are not being used for structural purposes.
- there are no arches around any of the windows to support the weight above the windows.  lintels hidden underneath the brick at the top of each window allow for a clean rectangular shape.
- lintels support the forces above the window.
