Submission 4 - Cissy Kang

This apartment block is similar to the one in my previous post , as it also features an abundance of decorative brickwork along with load-bearing brick walls.

As evident through the unchipped brick edges, the bricks are in good condition. The surface texture is rough and colours range from orange, red to mauve. The bricks are arranged according to a standard stretcher bond, with rake joints.

While the second photo is interesting for showing how rounded building edges can be achieved despite the angular form of bricks, the third photo presents another unique pattern capable of brickwork.

This steel-framed building results in brick playing a non-structural role, as instead an in fill for the facade. Thus the building is capable of being 10 storeys high, whereas load-bearing brick structures are more commonly 3 storeys.

The brick appears to be of a 90x90x290 standard size, grey colour, smooth texture and with rake mortar joints.
